Lyla Morgana Mouldey joined us at 26 mins past midnight on the 5th of Dec, thanks to an odyssean effort from Rosie. 4.280 kgs. She poos, she sleeps, she stares, she feeds, cries a little, and does it all with the utmost levels of sophistication and cuteness.
Dittybox has been open limited hours over the last two weeks, thanks to my great gallery invigilators. But as of this Wednesday (19th Dec), we'll be back to regular hours.
Assorted bits and pieces currently in dittybox. Our baby is due this week, so I might not be in the gallery, but someone will be invigilating in my stead. I'll update the opening hours after I've conferred with my spawn. Click the pics if you want a closer look-see.
Chrissy cards, handpainted.
"I'm An Island Baby" wee-tees and onesies. Some with squids/octopodes,
and some with little pics of the island.
My first left hand painting, from the week after tendon surgery.
A smitten knight, left-handed too.
Some Octo-related things, also painted left handed.
Screenprinted, then hand coloured "Ventriloquist Rex".
Crushed can dude. This one sold to a cool 9 year old called Nikko. But there's more.
A left-handed space station slash light house facility and assorted space-phenalia.
And the last piece done for my left hand show. 5 space wrecks.
Dittybox will be open again today (Wed 25th), from 11am-5.30pm. New europe and south coast paintings, prints, and gifts will be appearing over the coming weeks and months. I hope to see you in-gallery.
This blog is for stuff done from/for dittybox, my gallery shop in Island Bay, so I haven't been posting unrelated illustration work. I lost my old illustration blogs in a google name-change, but have recycled one to start loading recent non-dittybox work into... eyepoo.blogspot.com
MONSTROUS EXHIBITION OF EXHIBITIONIST MONSTERS! Not just monsters, but PIRATES too! You are cordially invited to drink some cordial (or wine) and gobble some cookies at dittybox gallery, to celebrate the completion of a plague of monstrous paintings. Some things you may see... Pirates and monsters (aforementioned), dinosaurs, the moon, space ships, squids, tattooed fish, volcanoes, a desert island, a gorilla, south-coast landscapes, and... drum roll... MARMITE ON CRACKERS! First come first served.
I've had a stack of crushed cans tucked away in a draw for years, waiting for a purpose. They're all roadkill, having been nicely flattened by oblivious drivers, and I figured they could be reincarnated as painting surfaces, or coasters, or something. So finally on Sunday I painted a face on one, with a gaping mouth where the drinking hole was. Then I decided to do lots more.
